We didn't inherit a franchise.
We built this with our hands.
How a Brazilian family turned a fresh start in South Carolina into the most trusted carpet and upholstery cleaning company in Fort Mill — one home at a time.
Two cities in the Amazon. One shared ambition.
Paulo was born in Belém do Pará. Digiorgia in Parintins, Amazonas. Both were raised in Manaus, where they studied, built careers, started a family — and quietly began dreaming bigger.
Paulo grew up around entrepreneurship. His father's influence shaped an early instinct for sales, communication, and team-building. He went on to work with professional training schools, digital ventures, and tourism projects across the Amazon region. Digiorgia studied Business Administration and spent years working at Petrobras in Manaus — managing operations at one of Brazil's largest companies.
Together, they had stability. But they also had a feeling that wouldn't go away: there was more to build.
Starting over at zero. On purpose.
In 2023, the family landed in the United States. No inherited business. No established network. Just a clear-eyed assessment of what it takes to build trust from scratch in a new country.
Paulo and Digiorgia looked at dozens of industries. They needed something with low barriers to entry, high local demand, and room for someone obsessed with quality to stand out. Carpet and upholstery cleaning checked every box.
There was another factor: Brazilians have earned a strong reputation in the cleaning industry in the U.S. Paulo and Digiorgia saw an opportunity to build on that trust — not with shortcuts, but with a level of professionalism most competitors don't bother with.
Why cleaning?
No shortcuts. Not even on day one.
Before cleaning a single carpet, Paulo trained under a specialist in carpet and upholstery restoration. Theory and hands-on practice — fiber types, extraction chemistry, stain behavior, drying science. The goal was simple: execute at a professional level from the very first job.
They invested in commercial-grade equipment from day one. No rental machines. No consumer-grade shortcuts. The decision was deliberate: if the standard was going to be high, the tools had to match.
In September 2024, Velvo took its first job — a close friend's apartment with carpets that hadn't been cleaned in over five years. Heavy wear, deep-set grime, a dull, aged appearance. After the extraction, the carpet looked new. The friend couldn't believe it was the same floor.
That was the validation. The process worked. Now it was time to scale it.
The review that proved the model.
A mother of three. Coffee and juice stains across upholstery, dining chairs, and carpet throughout the home. After the cleaning, every surface was visibly transformed. She left Velvo's first five-star Google review — and became a repeat customer.
That review wasn't just feedback. It was proof that the model — invest in real equipment, train properly, deliver more than expected — actually works in this market.
This is a family operation. In every sense.
Digiorgia and Paulo Neto are actively involved in operations — from transport and logistics to on-site support. This isn't a company that outsources the hard parts.
And then there are Benjamim and Manuela — the youngest members of the family and the reason behind every early morning and late night. They're not old enough to hold a steam wand, but they're the central motivation for everything Velvo is building.
When Paulo talks about why Velvo exists, he doesn't talk about market share or revenue goals. He talks about building something his kids will understand: that their parents came to a new country and created something real, through honest work and relentless quality.
What we live by
If the client expects clean, we deliver restored.
Every interaction is a chance to exceed expectations.
We don't want satisfied customers. We want amazed ones.
1,500+ homes. Same two people at the door.
The early days of few clients and steep competition didn't last. Through digital marketing, genuine online reputation, and a positioning that resonated — local, family-owned, trustworthy — Velvo grew into the go-to cleaning company for Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Charlotte homeowners.
But one thing hasn't changed: when you book Velvo, it's Paulo and Digiorgia who show up. The same people who built this company still clean every carpet and every couch. That's not a phase — it's the model.
