About Velvo How We Work

Our process

Barefoot Clean
Protocol™

Five steps. Two owners. Every home. The same protocol Shaw, Mohawk, and Stainmaster warranties require — executed without shortcuts regardless of job size.

  1. 01
    BCP Inspect™
We walk every room with you, flag fiber types, identify problem zones — red clay, pet stains, traffic lanes, delicate fibers — and tell you what we can and cannot fix before equipment touches the carpet. No surprises. Realistic outcomes discussed upfront.
    ~15 min
  2. 02
    BCP Extract™
Commercial-grade HEPA pre-vacuum lifts dry soil, pet hair, pollen, and dust mites that household vacuums miss. About 75% of carpet weight is dry debris. Removing it first prevents moisture from driving it deeper during extraction.
    ~20 min
  3. 03
    BCP Treat™
Zone-based pre-treatment: acidic spotting agents on red clay mineral zones, enzymatic solutions on pet and organic zones, traffic lane degreaser on entrance areas. The right chemistry per zone — not one product across the whole floor. Eco-friendly, low-VOC, kid and pet safe.
    ~25 min
  4. 04
    BCP Restore™
200°F hot-water extraction. One pass: rinse, lift, remove, recover. The manufacturer-required method for Shaw, Mohawk, and Stainmaster carpet warranties. 99% moisture removal. Zero soap residue — residue re-attracts soil and is the primary cause of carpets looking dirty again within weeks.
    ~45 min
  5. 05
    BCP Certify™
Pile-set rakes lift the nap. High-velocity air movers in traffic lanes and doorways. Walkable in 6–10 hours. Move-out documentation provided on request for property managers and closing attorneys across all service areas.
    ~15 min
Why hot-water extraction

The method manufacturers
actually require.

Most “carpet cleaners” use bonnet pads or shampoo — a cosmetic treatment that pushes oils deeper and leaves soap residue. Mohawk, Shaw, and Stainmaster warranties require hot-water extraction. That’s all we do.

Common questions

Questions from Fort Mill,
Charlotte & Rock Hill.

Don’t see yours? Text Paulo directly — he responds within 15 minutes.

Pricing is based on total square footage, not per room. For a typical 2,000–2,500 sq ft home in Fort Mill or Rock Hill, expect $400–$700 depending on soil level, pet damage, and stain complexity. Charlotte homes in the same size range fall in the same range. Stairs included. No surprise add-ons at the door — the price Paulo quotes via text is the price you pay.
Red clay is completely removable and one of the most common issues we see in Fort Mill and Rock Hill. Clay is mineral-based iron oxide — it requires acidic spotting agents, not standard alkaline pre-spray. We treat clay zones separately with targeted chemistry during BCP Treat™ before the main extraction pass. Success rate: 85–95% removal even on older set-in red clay.
We use enzymatic treatments that digest odor-causing uric acid crystals at the molecular level — not masking with perfume. For severe cases where bacteria has penetrated the carpet backing, we treat both the fiber face and backing underside. In 90%+ of cases, odor is permanently eliminated. The exception is subfloor penetration — we assess this during BCP Inspect™ and tell you honestly before we start.
Carpets are safe to use immediately after drying — typically 6–10 hours. Kids and pets can walk on damp carpet without issues; our eco-friendly solutions are non-toxic. Just avoid pushing heavy furniture back onto still-damp carpet. In peak summer humidity (July–August) across the Carolinas, dry time may extend to 12–15 hours.
Yes — humidity affects drying time. Our standard 6–10 hour estimate assumes AC running at 72–75°F with ceiling fans on. In peak summer humidity (85%+), drying may extend to 12–15 hours. We set up high-velocity air movers on all treated areas. BCP Restore™ removes 99% of moisture in a single pass — combined with air movers, proper drying prevents mold entirely.
Traffic lanes are compacted fibers packed with oils, dust, and in SC homes, red clay particles — not permanent fiber damage. BCP Treat™ loosens the compacted material, BCP Restore™ extracts it, and BCP Certify™ pile grooming lifts the nap back to its original position. Most traffic lanes return to near-original appearance. Severe physical fiber damage may restore 70–80% — we tell you this upfront during inspection.
Same-day or next-day scheduling is often available. We prioritize time-sensitive requests — mention your closing date when you contact us. We provide written documentation the same day: date, method (BCP Restore™ hot-water extraction), areas cleaned, and technician signature. This satisfies property management, closing attorney, and buyer inspection requirements across Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Charlotte.
Professional hot-water extraction reduces allergens 90%+. We extract dust mites, pollen, and pet dander trapped deep in fibers. The 200°F+ heat in BCP Restore™ kills bacteria and mold spores. Charlotte’s February–May pollen season is particularly impactful — a post-pollen extraction in May removes the allergen load that accumulates all spring.
We prioritize urgent requests. Same-day or next-day cleaning is often available, especially earlier in the week. Carpets dry in 6–10 hours, so even a Friday morning slot works for guests arriving that evening. Text Paulo with your deadline and we confirm the fastest available slot.
24-hour satisfaction guarantee: if you’re unhappy within 24 hours, we return and re-clean at no charge or refund the service fee. We set honest expectations during BCP Inspect™. If we said a stain was treatable and it remains, we fix it free.
Yes. Eco-friendly, low-VOC enzymatic chemistry — no harsh chemicals, no toxic solvents. Non-toxic once dry. For clients with chemical sensitivities, mention it when you contact us and we confirm the exact product names and SDS sheets before the appointment.
Yes — upholstery cleaning and area rug cleaning are full services, not add-ons. We clean sofas, sectionals, dining chairs, ottomans, and most upholstered furniture using a modified BCP adapted for upholstery fabrics. Area rugs are cleaned on-site with fiber-appropriate methods.
